Part of the "1897 Collection," this Limited Edition Cruiser is an exact replica of the original garment patented by C.C. Filson in 1914. Unlike the heavier Mackinaw wool, this jacket is cut from Filson's legendary Forestry Cloth—a worsted 100% virgin wool serge. Originally developed for the U.S. Forest Service in the 1920s, Forestry Cloth is tightly woven, smooth to the touch, and offers exceptional wind resistance while being breathable enough for active use in variable seasons.
Known historically as the "Alaskan Tuxedo," this fabric is prized by collectors for its ability to shed weather while maintaining a sharper, more tailored drape than standard wool. This limited-edition release features the authentic mid-century fit and detailing, including the full-width rear map pocket and button-front closure.
